I wonder if I'll actually fit in the ND, because there's no way in hell I could drive an NC the way I'm squeezed in it.

Shit either the ND is tiny, or the NA is massive.

IT'S THE SAME SIZE AS A NA!!!!!!! I MUST HAVE ONE WHEN THE MONEY IS THERE.

The NA is pretty dinky. I approve of the ND being just as dinky.

IIRC I read somewhere they maximized interior space for the wheelbase ….. which might be a very relative statement.

I really do want to like the Miata, however, I couldn't seem get comfortable behind the wheel of the last NC I sat in. I'm not that tall (6 foot), but I just couldn't find a position that felt natural. I fit in the BRZ better, but those aren't available as convertibles. Maybe the ND is different.

I've actually never been in a NC, but I'm (a skinny) 6 ft tall and the ND felt spot on to me.

Wow. It's a lot smaller than everyone made it out to be. "Whaaaah it's so BIIIIIG and BLOATED Mazda has RUINED IT"

That pretty much describes me. Good to know that I might actually have a chance to fit in this one.

This post is to promote the NA right? Because that's the better looking car in these photos.

I mean "better" is a word you could use. Lots of function, not much form imo.

1.5L and 2.0L SkyActive engines for the rest of the world and just the 2.0 for murica. The 2 point oh currently makes 155hp in the Mazda 3, so at least that. They haven't said official power. But the ND also weighs about 200lbs less then the NC.

Oh and 6 manual and auto.

I hope they get it close to 200hp. Might be wishful thinking but hey I'm positive.

The real question is whether or not it's as light as the NA.

" …… We don't have a confirmed figure, but Mazda claims over 100 kilos (220lbs).

Let's put that figure in context:

NA - 2,070 lbs 4

NB - 2,348 lbs

NC - 2,447 lbs

ND - Something in the neighborhood of 2,200 lbs"

Not quite, but pretty damn close.

Gross. Mazda is completely wasting its suspensions and newfound styling by going this whole everything-gets-an-underpowered-I4 route. They should've continued their relationship with Ford, and put the Ecoboost 1.6 and 2.0 in the new Miata. Then maybe the 2.3 as a Mazdaspeed that actually earns the name.

Once again proving why being a 6'4" car guy can really suck..... (And yes, I sat in both ND's at NAIAS also and have epic pictures of how ridiculous I looked, and I wanted nothing more than to be somewhat comfortable once I squirmed my way into the driver's seat).
